Eat , Drink and Share
It was around 11pm at night in Malaga and we had just arrived on a flight and checked in to a hotel. It had been a long day but we were buzzing and decide to try and find a drink and something to eat. That’s right…. something to eat ! Now, we know that it is pretty difficult to get anything to eat after 9pm anywhere in the UK other than the odd late night kebab shop or chippy. Walking through the old town area we were amazed at how many bars and little restaurants were still open and serving food. In fact …they were busy. People were standing outside around old wine barrels or seated inside by the bar or at a table. We ended up at a little place aptly called “Bar Malaga” in Calle Sta. Maria’ 4. As is typical of many tapas bars they had a variety of different dishes on display along the bar. Choose what you want, take a seat if you can and enjoy!
After many more visits to Spain, mostly Andalucia, we have come to love the tapas culture and the fantastic variety of food products that Spain has to offer, so much so that we decided to start a business selling specialist gourmet products from different regions . We try to buy from smaller independent producers and select brands that are not so easily available in the UK. We are just starting out so our range is limited but hopefully you will like our products and help us grow.

We ended up buying a small farm (Finca Rojo Rubi) in the Granada province of Spain and we spend half of our time there and half back in the UK. You can guess which time of year we spend where !
On the farm we grow olives, oranges, lemons, avocados, figs, quinces and produce our own olive oil from an olive called “Lechin de Granada”. Some of the trees, like the one shown opposite are 100’s of years old.
At Tapas Hamper we are specializing in extra virgin olive oil and will be offering top quality olive oil from different types of olives and regions.

Goods ordered before 3pm are sent from our logistics warehouse by the UK carrier DPD for a next day delivery. The delivery charge is £7.95 for all orders under £59. Orders over this amount are sent free of charge.
